Jeep Safari Kashmir to Ladakh

Places to Visit: Delhi– Srinagar – Kargil – Mulbekh – Lamayuru – Leh–Khardung La – Hunder – Sumoor – Diskit – Leh – Chang La – Pangong Lake – Chumathang – Tsomoriri – Tsokar – Baralacha La – Lachung La – Jispa – Manali – Chandigarh – Delhi.

Day1: ARRIVE DELHI. Assistance at the airport and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2: AT DELHI. Sightseeing of Delhi. Ghandi Samadhi, India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid. O/n Hotel.

Day 3: DELHI – SRINAGAR. After Breakfast transfer to the Domestic Airport to board the flight to Srinagar. Upon arrive to Srinagar transfer to House Boat on Dal Lake or Nagin Lake. Evening Shikara ride on the Dal Lake or Nagin lake.

Day 4: AT SRINAGAR. After Breakfast drive to GULMARG the meadow of flowers (56 Kms / 2 Hrs) trek to or take a cable car ride to Khilanmarg. Drive back to Srinagar and visit the Mogul Gardens. O/n at Houseboat.

Day 5: SRINAGAR – KARGIL. Post breakfast drive to Kargil. 204 Kms (7 – 8 Hrs). The road passes through the beautiful valley of Sonmarg (2740 Mtrs) After Sonmarg most of the road is rough and wet. Cross Zojila pass 3527 Mts (Gateway of Ladakh) and continue drive towards Drass (The coldest inhibited place in J&K). Arrive Kargil (2710 Mtrs) which has got its importance after opening of Ladakh for tourists in 1974. O/n Hotel Kargil.

Day 6: KARGIL – MULBEKH – LAMAYURU – LEH. Post breakfast drive to Leh en-route visit Mulbekh & Lamayuru Monasteries, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Karakoram mountain ranges as you go over Namikala Pass (3737 m) and Fotula Pass (4294 m) – the highest point on the Srinagar/ Leh road. O/n Hotel.

Day 7: AT LEH. Day at leisure.Walk around Leh Town.Evening a little hike upto Shanti Stupa to view the sunset.O/n Hotel.

Day 8: LEH – SHEY – THIKSEY – HEMIS – LEH. Post breakfast visit Shey, Thiksey & Hemis Monasteries. O/n in Hotel.

Day 9: LEH – HUNDER. 120 Kms. After breakfast we drive to Hunder over the Highest Motorable pass Khardungla at 18380 Ft. Arrive Khalsar which is the second village of Nubra valley, we continue drive to Hunder village for overnight stay in Hotel/Camp. Post Lunch visit Hunder Village and enjoy a Camel ride on the Bactrian Double Hump Camel.

Day 10: HUNDER – DISKIT – SUMOOR – LEH. After breakfast visit Diskit & Sumoor Villages & Monasteries. Visit Diskit monastery, the town which is the head quarter of Nubra Valley and visit Sumoor Monastery (Samstanling), Panamik Village and drive back to Leh. O/n Hotel.

Day 11: LEH – PANGONG LAKE. Early at 0600 hrs we drive 140km, crossing over the Changla Pass 15000 ft, to Pangong Lake one of the largest and most beautiful natural lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14000 ft, more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory. En route visit Chemrey & Thakthok Monasteries. O/n in a Camp near the Lake.

Day 12: PANGONG LAKE – CHUMATHANG (3965 Mts) – TSOMORIRI (4555 Mts)..(340 Kms / 8 – 9 Hrs). Post breakfast drive to Tsomoriri Lake en-route visit the Hot Springs at Chumathang. O/n Tsomoriri Camp & Resort.

Day 13: AT TSOMORIRI. After breakfast visit Korzok Village and walk near the Lake. O/n in a Camp.

Day 14: TSOMORIRI – TSOKAR – JISPA. After breakfast drive to Jispa via Tsokar in 8 – 9hrs approx. Tsokar lake in the northwest from Tsomoriri Lake is situated at the height of 4485 M. It is also called “White Lake” because of salt deposit around it. Since these are all drainage basins with no outlet their water is blackish. That of the Tsokar is so salty that salt is procured from its margins and was sold all over Ladakh and Kashmir Until a few years ago by the Rupshu Chang. Tsokar is partly fed by a channel from a smaller fresh water lake. All the lakes are breeding grounds for a variety of birds among them the bar-headed Goose, the great crested Grebe, the Brahmi Duck and the Brown Headed Gull. Drive to Jispa via Thukje Gompa. Join Manali-Leh highway and drive down to Jispa crossing 03 passes in a line NAKEE LA (4750 M / 15675 FT)– LACHUNG LA (5065 M / 16715 FT)– BARALACHA LA (4892 M / 16150 FT) and the 21 Gata Loops. We arriveJispa by late afternoon with lot of photo stops on the way. O/n Hotel.

Day 15: JISPA – ROHTANG LA (3980 M / 13135 FT) – MANALI (2050 M / 6765 FT) (140 KMS) Today is a short ride as per seeing the kilometers but can take a full day as the road going down from Rohtang La our last pass towards Manali. Overnight stay at Manali in Hotel.

Day 16: AT MANALI. A rest day at with optional activity of sightseeing as there is plenty to see around Manali and on the opposite side of the valley along with spectacular views can take you to Naggar castle, the estate and museum of Russian painter Nikolai Roerich and hot springs at Vashisht. Post lunch we can explore the markets, temples and Tibetan refugee camps of this bustling mountain town.

Day 17: MANALI – CHANDIGARH – DELHI. Early morning we drive to Chandigarh in a small mini bus to board the evening fast train to Delhi. Arrive Delhi in the night and transferred to your Hotel.

Day 18: Transfer to the Airport to board the flight back home.
